Previous Version

We have recently added to the file server the ability for you as a user to restore previous or deleted files. The instructions below will show you how to roll back to a previous version of a file or restore a deleted file. Note this will only work on networked drives to the server and not your local drives like C:.

Restoring a previous version of a file

Right click on the file you want to restore and then click properties, previous versions tab.

You can now see previous versions of the file selected. You have three options;

View = Will open the old file and you could use this to compare with the current

Copy = Will not restore the file, but make a copy that u can view/edit

Restore = Will overwrite the current file with the previous file.

Restoring a deleted file.

Right click on the drive that the file was in. Click properties then previous versions tab.

Double click the drive in previous versions, this will show the whole drive.

Navigate to the file you have deleted, then copy into the current drive to restore.
